Accessible from the mainland via US 2/53, Barker's Island combines a 420-slip marina, a hotel, an 18-hole miniature golf course, playground, 5-mile paved recreation trail, picnic area, beach, fishing pier, outdoor performance pavilion and the SS Meteor Whaleback Ship Museum. Superior also boasts one of the largest municipal forests in the country. The 4,400-acre Superior Municipal Forest offers 17 miles of trails for cross-country skiing and hiking. The Wild Rivers State Trail and the Tri-County Corridor Trail are both multi-use recreation trails available year-round and are part of the more than 300 miles of seasonal all-terrain vehicle and snowmobile trails in Douglas County.
