Many consider Leamington the tomato capital of Canada and have enshrined this fact in the local information booth, 76 Talbot St. W., which resembles an immense tomato.
For butterfly- and bird-watchers and outdoor enthusiasts, nearby Point Pelee National Park provides opportunities for observing migrating birds, butterflies and wildfowl. A large number of shipwrecks can be found in the Pelee Passage, and scuba diving charters are available. A marina accommodates those with their own boats. Other recreational options include fishing and windsurfing.
