Lincoln County Historical Museum is 1 mi. n. of US 30 at 2403 N. Buffalo Bill Ave. Depicted is a World War II canteen that served traveling soldiers whose trains stopped briefly in town. Other memorabilia and artifacts relate to the Sioux Indians and settlers of the area. Many historic buildings have been preserved, including an 1899 Sears Roebuck Co. house, the only cabin remaining from Fort McPherson, a Pony Express station and the boyhood home of William M. Jeffers, who became president of the Union Pacific Railroad. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
