Governor's Palace
300 Palace Green St., Williamsburg, VA, 23187
Governor's Palace is at 300 Palace Green St. at the Colonial Williamsburg Historic Area, off I-64 exit 238. When it was completed in 1722, the residence of Virginia’s royal governor was considered one of the finest structures in British North America. The elegant and imposing residence has been the home of seven royal governors and the commonwealth's first two state governors. The current building faces the Palace Green and was reconstructed on the original foundations; it opened to the public in April 1934. The palace complex also includes a kitchen, where 18th-century cooking demonstrations are featured, and elaborate gardens with vegetables, flowers, greenery, arbors and a garden maze.
