Frontier Army Museum is at 100 Reynolds Ave., at Fort Leavenworth. Exhibits provide insight into the founding and development of Fort Leavenworth, the history of the frontier army and the Civil, Mexican and Indian wars. The museum includes the carriage in which Abraham Lincoln rode while visiting Leavenworth, army carriages and a full-size JN4 “Jenny” biplane. Also displayed are examples of U.S. military dress and equipment up to World War I as well as several rare Mexican War items. Videos about the history of the fort are shown. Cellphone tours are available. All visitors should report to the visitor center. Photo ID is required for all visitors ages 17+ entering the base.
