Grand Suites Bellingham

This location needs a lot of TLC. For the price of the room, which was a King Suite with a seating area that includes a fold out couch and coffee table, as well as a jetted bathtub in the bathroom, priced at $116 on a Sunday night, I don’t mind that the furniture and decor is quite dated. But I noticed lamps and other items were somewhat damaged, the walls were filthy and there were noticeable stains throughout the room. There’s no ventilation in the bathroom, just one of those light bulbs that are bright and heat up, and turned on with a timer switch. Unfortunately, that bulb isn’t enough to prevent mold from growing which you can see through the layer of paint that was used to try and cover it up. The fold out couch did not have sheets over its mattress, but I was able to get a set from the front desk. But that was all they could give me for bedding. They did not have any extra blankets or pillows for my son to use. When I was walking back to my room, just before I went up the stairs (elevator was out of service) I could see rats scurrying around, outside the parameters of the building. There’s no doubt that I was lucky not to see them in the building. To be honest, I won’t be staying here again.
