Livingston is at the head of Paradise Valley, through which flows the Yellowstone River and around which rise the Crazy Mountains and the Absaroka and Gallatin ranges of the Rockies. The area offers opportunities for wildlife viewing, hunting, fishing, rafting, backpacking, camping, skiing and snowmobiling.
A scenic drive, US 89, connects Livingston to Gardiner and the northern entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Livingston was the original entrance to Yellowstone.
