Located in the El Raval neighborhood, the Center de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) is a multidisciplinary institute and culture center offering everything from concerts, conferences, and festivals to debates, readings, and workshops. It hosts frequent exhibitions on contemporary art and culture.
The basics
The center hosts frequent and different exhibitions, along with various courses and workshops, debates, audiovisual programs, theatrical programs, concerts, and festivals. Common topics include modern art, culture, cities, public spaces, and other contemporary issues. There are also two archives with an extensive multimedia and experimental film collection, a bookstore, and a bar and restaurant. Visitors can easily combine a visit to the CCCB with the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art nearby.

How to get there
The center is located in the heart of the El Raval neighborhood of Barcelona and is easily accessible by public transportation. The closest metro, FGC, Rodalies, and bus stops are at Plaça Catalunya or Universitat. Parking is available at Carrer dels Angels, Plaça Castella, and Plaça Catalunya.
When to get there
The center is open Tuesdays through Sundays and bank holidays from 11am to 8pm (with the last admission 30 minutes before closing). It’s closed on (non-holiday) Mondays, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Free admission is offered on Sundays after 3pm. Check the schedule for the timing of the various programs. The center is especially busy in mid-June during the Sonar dance festival, as some daytime events are held there.
Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA)
Located near the CCCB in El Raval, the MACBA is a modern glass and concrete building that is home to a 5,000-piece collection of contemporary and avant-garde art from Catalan, Spanish, and international artists like Miquel Barcelo, Susana Solano, Paul Klee, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Temporary exhibitions are usually held for three- to six-month periods at a time.
