Beaches

( Do not miss )

Phuket is all about beaches - it has some of the best in the world. Nearly all the major ones are on the western shore of the island, running from Mai Khao in the north to Nai Harn in the south. The best known is Patong, which has developed a lively night-time scene not unlike that of Pattaya. Then there are more sedate beaches like Kata and Karon. All share Phuket's wonderful coastline on the Andaman Sea, offer excellent accommodation and food and make the perfect place for a beach-based holiday. There are fewer beaches on the island's east coast, but just beyond the southern tip of the island at Cape Phrom Thep - famous for its legendary sunsets - Rawai Beach deserves a mention.
