Vimanmek Palace

( Highly Recommended )

Originally constructed for King Chulalongkorn in 1868, Vimanmek was moved to its present location near Dusit Palace in 1910. A three-storey mansion comprising more than 80 rooms, Vimanmek is reputedly the largest golden teak building in the world. Certainly the cost of assembling a similar structure today would be astronomical. The interior contains an extensive collection of early Ratanakosin dynasty objects and numerous antiques from the late 19th century.
