Jim Thompson's House

( Do not miss )

American businessman Jim Thompson set up in Thailand shortly after World War II and, almost single-handedly, revived the traditional Thai silk industry. This avid collector of antiquities, not just from Thailand but from Myanmar (Burma), Laos and Cambodia, built a magnificent house (actually several traditional central Thai wooden houses) at the end of a quiet lane by the banks of the Saen Saep Canal. Thompson disappeared mysteriously in Malaysia in 1967 but his elegant house has become a trust property.
