Ko Chang

( Highly Recommended )

Ko Chang (Elephant Island) is the biggest of more than 40 islands in the Gulf of Siam, off the coast of Trat, Thailand's most southeasterly province. It is Thailand's second largest island after Phuket but almost completely undeveloped by comparison. Until recently it had no paved roads, and accommodation is still limited to simple bungalows scattered along the coast. Best reached by ferry from Laem Ngop, it is a wonderland of unspoilt tropical rainforest, pristine beaches and clear seas - but light on the water sports available at more developed resorts.
