Jeath War Museum

( Worth Seeing )

The acronym by which this interesting war museum is known represents the first letters of the combatant nations - Japan, England, Australia, America, Thailand and Holland. A friendly Thai monk called Phra Tongproh, who speaks some English, runs the museum and he can be very helpful in showing visitors around. The museum is based on one of the atap huts in which Allied prisoners of war were held during World War II. Exhibits on display include paintings by former prisoners, photographs and various weapons, such as Japanese swords.
