MONEY

Thai currency is decimal based and divided into baht and satang. There are 100 satang to 1 baht. Coins now in circulation are in denominations of 25 and 50 satang and in 1, 5 and 10 baht. Notes are in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 baht.

Credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diner's Club are accepted at all luxury hotels and the more expensive restaurants. Traveller's cheques can be cashed at banks and exchange counters in major towns and resorts.
