Exhibits show how the cathedral and town grew around the apostle's tomb, how the routes west across Europe developed, what the pilgrims wore and how they traveled. There's a copy of the fascinating Codex Calixtinus, a 13th-century guide to the route, full of tips about travel and information about Santiago. Look for the collection of souvenirs 14th-century pilgrims took home.
