Santiago's historic center is pedestrian-only; the only vehicular access is for taxis and delivery vehicles. It takes around 15 to 20 minutes to walk from one end of the center to the other, and everything you'll want to see is within this area, even most of the hotels. If you are staying outside the historic center, take a taxi to the edge of the old town and then walk. Taxis can be found at stands outside the old city, or you can call them (PHONE: 981 598 488, or 981 561 028 or 981 595 964 for night service).
