Only a tenth of the Budavári Labirintus (Buda Castle Labyrinth) complex can be visited, but even this gives a vivid impression of a strange, enclosed, underground world. Waxworks illustrate the history of Hungary from the misty past to the golden Renaissance age of King Matthias. During the siege of Budapest in World War II, thousands of people took shelter down here while their city was destroyed.
