Subway lines are color coded: yellow (M1), red (M2) and blue (M3). Buy tickets from the counter (pénztár) until 8 p.m., then from the section called forgalmi ugyelét. Trains run daily 4:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Buses with red or black numbers and no letter stop all over the city; avoid the express buses, which have a letter ”E.“ Trams and trolley buses also have an extensive network. Tickets for all three are available from transport terminals, subway stations, vending machines or post offices.

Do not take taxis that don't display a sign, and check that the meter is on and running. The biggest city company is Fötaxi (Phone:1 222 2222).
