Casa Batlló is one of the most famous buildings of the Modernista school, designed by Gaudí for Josep Batlló i Casanovas and completed in 1907. It is said to illustrate the triumph of Sant Jordi (St George) over the dragon, with its mosaic façade, covered in glazed blue, green and ochre ceramics representing the scaly skin of the dragon, its knobbly roof the dragon's back, the tower the saint's cross, and the wave-like balconies the skulls and bones of victims.
