Road Service Benefits
Your membership entitles you to up to four free Roadside Assistance calls per cardholder, per year. Just one call from anywhere in the United States or Canada brings assistance for a flat tire, dead battery, gas outage, lockout, or tow.
AAA Blue Grass/Kentucky is proud of its record in providing Emergency Road Service for our members and we are here to assist you in the future. The following points will help you receive the maximum benefit from this unique service.
Obtaining ERS
Emergency Road Service is just that… an emergency service, which should not be mistaken for convenience towing, maintenance, or repair service. The serviceman, in rendering service, will make one round trip between his station and the disabled car. To obtain service, call
| 233-1111 | in Lexington/Fayette County |
| 1-800-568-5222 | elsewhere in Kentucky |
| 1-800-AAA-HELP | outside of Kentucky (AAA Supernumber) |
When you call for service, be sure to have the following information available:
- your AAA membership number
- expiration date
- club name (AAA Blue Grass/Kentucky) and club number (032)
- phone number where you can be reached
- year, make, model, color, and license number of the vehicle needing service
- location of the vehicle with nearest intersecting streets
Be prepared to show your membership card and driver's license, for without them the serviceman is instructed to charge a deposit for the service. In this case, apply to the Club for reimbursement consideration.
If you resolve your situation before the serviceman arrives, please phone the office and cancel your call. This will increase our efficiency in responding to other members' needs.
Eligibility
AAA membership covers the member, not the automobile, which means members will receive ERS whether driving or riding as a passenger. Only the person named on the card is eligible, and AAA cards are non-transferable. Associate memberships for additional drivers are available at reduced rates. You must be an occupant of the vehicle at the time it becomes disabled and must be available to present your membership card at the time service is given, except in extenuating circumstances.
If AAA Blue Grass/Kentucky is unable to verify your membership number, you will be charged for this service. Reimbursement for contract rates will be considered upon verification of your membership, provided the type and extent of the service is included in the Emergency Road Service benefits. Be certain to obtain an official receipt from the serviceman.
Eligible Vehicles
Emergency Road Service will be provided for any four-wheeled motor driven vehicles of the passenger, pleasure or recreational type (vans, campers, and motor homes), regardless of the license plate designation. Vehicles must have current license and registration to be covered by AAA.
Dual-wheel campers/motor homes will be provided all services except towing, extrication/recovery and tire service. Dual-wheel unloaded pickup trucks are provided all services except tire service. Commercial vehicles are eligible for service with the exclusion of taxicabs and limousines.
Members needing service for rental cars are eligible for services provided under their AAA membership.
Service Equipment
The Club allows one normally equipped service vehicle, one driver, and one service call per emergency. Additional equipment or personnel must be paid for by the member at the time of the service, at the prevailing commercial rate.
Types of Service
Independent Contractors
Your Club strives to secure reliable, competent garages. However, AAA affiliated service facilities are under contract with the Club to perform such service as the Club shall offer and are not agents of the Club, nor is the Club an agent for any affiliated facility. In giving service, the station acts as an agent of the member.
The Club assumes no responsibility for injuries to persons or property (including damage to a member's car or personal items kept in the car) as a result of Emergency Road Service performed by such contract stations, garages and facilities.
Excessive or Ineligible Use
Each member is allowed up to four (4) road service calls per membership year. When calls exceed the membership limit, service will be provided at a discounted rate and payment accepted at the time of service. In extenuating circumstances the member could be billed at the fair commercial rate, or many be surcharged on your membership dues. The Club reserves the right to suspend Emergency Road Service or cancel the membership for excessive use. Excessive use or abuse of membership privileges will be determined by the Club based on individual circumstances and the member agrees to accept these terms as a condition of membership.
Extreme Weather
Severe weather conditions may cause unavoidable delays, and/or limitations in service. Your patience and understanding in these emergency situations is always appreciated. In the case of snowbound cars, service will be provided only where driveways, streets, or highways are reasonably free of snow and ice, to allow the service vehicle to reach the car without risking tie-ups of vital equipment. Servicemen will not shovel snow or be responsible for damage to lawns or driveways.
Reimbursements
AAA members should attempt to obtain service by calling AAA. However, if AAA service is not available, a member should obtain alternate service, pay for it, and submit the original itemized receipt from a service facility to the Club for reimbursement consideration. Members should include name, address, membership information and a brief explanation. Reimbursement shall be at the prevailing commercial rate for the covered service that would have been provided by AAA servicemen. If AAA service was available, but not used, reimbursement may be limited to the amount the club would normally have paid for the covered service. Requests for reimbursement must be submitted to the Club within 60 days from the date of service.
The Club provides no reimbursement when: 1) a vehicle is moved at the direction of police or property owner due to illegal parking or other violation; 2) service is given by an individual or bystander. All reimbursements will be mailed to the member.
Not Included

Special Conditions Affecting Emergency Road Service
Although AAA offers 24-hour coast-to-coast service, it cannot and does not guarantee service everywhere under all conditions and circumstances. See section entitled "Reimbursements" for procedures when AAA service is not available.
The club does not guarantee that an AAA contract garage will have parts or facilities available for any particular vehicle or that the station will be able to make repairs.
If service is not satisfactory, the Club should be notified immediately, and an investigation will be made.
It is our goal to provide you with the highest quality emergency road service available. You will help us to maintain these high standards and continually improve our service by letting us know your comments. Please call or write our Club offices, using contact information found on this website.
Member Service Center
The Member Service Center, located in Lexington, is available 24 hours a day. Counselors take TripTik requests, provide weather information, respond to calls for emergency road service, and process changes in membership status. The staff can also answer questions about the Club's various discount programs.
